We got the chance to speak with Telltale games CEO Dan Connors, who is currently working on the new Sam & Max game, among other things. Here's what he had to say.

Telltale games was formed back in 2004 (if memory serves) when the team working on the Sam & Max sequel left Lucasarts. Was the split amicable?

Yes it was. LucasArts was focusing its efforts on the Star Wars: Episode III games and we were ready to try something new.

What are some of the goals of Telltale?

A primary goal is to bring engaging characters and worlds to life and allow players to feel immersed inside of a story. A second is to create technology that enables the most talented writers, directors and cinematographers to get directly involved in creating interactive stories

Did you guys always plan to make the sequel to Sam & Max when you formed Telltale?

It was something we wanted to do when we started the company. Obviously, we think the characters will be very popular in new games and look forward to bringing them back.

The Bone franchise has been received pretty well by the gaming community, what led to the development of this game?

We wanted to work on a great story with cool characters and Bone really fit the bill. Jeff Smith also represents the type of creative person we are interested in building a relationship with.

How was it working on the CSI game series? Do you get to closely work with the show’s cast?

We have worked very closely with a technical advisor to the TV show who is an actual CSI as well as a writer of CSI novels, and of course worked with the cast during voice recording sessions. The formula for the show is perfect for a game because it immediately immerses the user in a mystery.
