Midway is close to bankruptcy and closure, as we all know. Yesterday, rumors of the Mortal Kombat team looking for a buyer for their entire squad abounded. Today, sources claim that three companies are vying for a total Midway buyout. Warner, Ubisoft, and a private investor from Chicago are all interested in the troubled publisher/developer. Of course, Midway has no comment on rumors, but it sounds like a solid bet one of these buyers will end up with Midway.

Amazon.com is now the first retail outlet to officially begin selling Xbox Live Arcade games. Previously, the only way to purchase XBLA games was on the Microsoft Xbox website or through the Xbox360 itself. The service will offer US gamers Xbox Live Arcade game codes when games are purchased, and that code will allow the buyer to download and play the XBLA game when entered in the Xbox360 dashboard. The store will also offer Xbox Live Subscription cards and MS Points Cards via the same method.

"This is an exciting day for Amazon.com customers, and we will continue to drive innovation that will provide our customers with the widest selection of video game platform downloads."

Sega is considering manufacturing a twin-stick controller for the upcoming Xbox360 version of Virtual On. Silconera says the news comes directly from a developer's post saying that the company is exploring the possibility and determining manufacturing costs. The way that the flight stick sold for Ace Combat and H.A.W.X., it might end up happening.

This one is rumor ill bound, for now, but according to the Korean Games Rating Board (the ESRB of Korea), Garou: Mark of the Wolves (Garou is Fatal Fury in America), has been rated by Microsoft of Korea, which means it should be headed to the Xbox Live Arcade. Mark of the Wolves is considered one of SNK's best hand-drawn 2D fighting games, receiving excellent reviews all around, and hitting home with hardcore players. The game was also one of the very last ever released for the legendary NeoGeo game system, and it pushed the hardware to the limits in terms of graphics. Fatal Fury Special has already been released on the Xbox Live Arcade, and with Marvel Vs. Capcom 2 rumored to be on the way, XBLA is quickly shaping up to be the 2D fighter fan's hotspot.

Cammie Dunaway, the woman who showed up last year at the Nintendo E3 press conference, and is actually the Nintendo America VP of sales and marketing, spoke a bit about the upcoming expo and Nintendo's presentation this year. Last year, Cammie attempted to snowboard on the Wii Balance Board, if you remember, and it was very entertaining. She promises that this year there will be no such antics, and she is going to talk about games only. When asked exactly what the subject would be, she only responded with "All i can say is I hope we have something." Ambiguous, at best.

Yup, folks, you read correctly. One of the most cinematic and unique games on the PS2 is making its way to the big screen. Shadow of the Colossus will be developed by producer Kevin Misher, and written by Street Fighter: The Legend Of Chun-Li writer Justin Marks. Sounds like a recipe for big old floppage.
