Assassin's Creed 2 Dev To Cost 20% More Than Original > |

According to Ubisoft, Assassin's Creed 2 will cost "around 20 per cent more than the first one" to develop. This is according to the company CEO, Yves Guillemot. Speaking on a recent investor conference call, while discussing the publisher's recent financial results, Guillemot explained that the bigger budget was in order to create "bigger games with higher quality," which is apparenlty part of Ubisoft's new four-part plan. The other parts of the plan include making games for genres Ubisoft has never tried before, such as Shaun White games, and the new Pele soccer game.
