	Chinese Website Mydrivers is reporting today that Taiwan manufacturer COMPEQ (who also manufactured parts for PSP) has received orders from Sony to mass produce the HDI PCB (High Density Interconnect Printed Circuit Board) for the PS3. Although COMPEQ did not give an official announcement, rumor says the mass production starts in June or July of this year. Mydrivers is a pretty reputable Chinese website from what we have been told, but still, take it as you will. >Link

The thing is... it doesn't say whether this will be the FIRST BATCH of PCB or not.

Remember there was another story about how Sony are getting some Chinese factories to massproduce their PS3s after they fix the production problems at their own factories?

What do you think? *shrugs*

Lets hope this isn't the FIRST mass production for this part ;)

For all we know this could be the order to produce the final DEV kits.

Not realy a big deal even if its the boards for the PS3. They sttill need Nvidia and IBM to get the chips out some time this year.

June is what I'd consider LATE spring.

How many PS3s do they expect to have at launch if they start making circuit boards in June/July?? This delay makes me think a US Debut is likely to be in 2007 not 2006. Good thing I have my 360s......GR:AW is awesome. And that THE OUTFIT Demo is surprisingly fun.
