AMD To Buy ATI? >

We usually do not report news like this, but this could have very far reaching implications. In a move that would have many repercussions in the gaming world, AMD may be preparing to buyout graphics card provider ATI. According to a report issued by Apjit Walia of the Royal Bank of Canada's Capital Markets group details AMD's plans for expansion as well as the potential ATI has to be bought out. This could be a huge move, stay tuned.

I only care about how this would effect the agreement that ATI made with microsoft to further develop and provide technology for future xbox products. this may turn out great for microsoft if AMD buys out ATI, this may mean that in microsoft's next system we will get a great AMD and ATI chipsets while microsoft saves money contracting to one company/entity rather then splitting the cost to different companies. argueably AMD and ATI are the greatest chip makers when it comes to PC gaming, so we'll see how microsoft can benefit from this.

This could be a MAJOR MOVE. Ati's relationship with Microsoft because of the 360 imagine if amd got in the mix as well :D

I hope this does indeed happen because I think it would be another positive move that would benefit everyone all the way down to the gamers.
