	There were two screenshots of Forza Motorsport 2 for the Xbox360 leaked on to the net this evening. We did not post them earlier because if you look at them, you would likley think they are faked. Well, the official comment from the Forza team is as follows: Right now, questions abound -- are they fake? Are they real? Is that really what FM2 is going to look like when it's spooling up in my Xbox 360? Yadda yadda. Unfortunately, the only official answer I have at this time is this: Since these screenshots were not officially released by Turn 10 and Microsoft, I cannot confirm nor deny whether these are indeed real. Yeah I know, whiskey tango foxtrot. This says to us they are likely real. They do not look too great either. See for yourself. >Link

Ewww dm can't believe you actually posted these they aren't real screens of the game :)

None of the features turn 10 said would be in the game are in any of these screens. HDR/4XAA, 3D grass, dust particles messing up the cars, reflection mapping the car wireframes released for forza 2 are FAR more detailed than any of these cars shown here. Look at the road textures, look at the grass. They are fake guys :D

The forza developers simply because of this news will be releasing screenshots 2 days earlier than they planned to release them. This upcoming tuesday we'll get our first real look at forza 2 :)

They said the game looks better than pgr3 this looks no better than gt4 for the ps2 guys I don't think a 360 game built on a brand new engine would look this terrible especially being first party (The 360 can do better)

Which is why I believe them to be completely fake.

Its actually good they posted it as its going to force the forza devs to show the game to people sooner lol ;) Win win situation!

looks alright i guess but i wanna see something like the cg trailer they released these screen shots look stupid and im not much of a racer type gamer but the new need for speed looks like it might get me addicted :P

i never heard of a game getting fake screen shots released... just suck it up.. this is the actual game

im jus messing.. man i really hope these are fake though fa real.. i had the first forza.. it was nice..dident play it much though... it seems like every time i burn a game.. i dont feel as motivated to play it as if i had bought it.... oh well

I agree with optaviusx.These are fakes by judging the blur in the background. The photo with the BMMR & Audi. Top right corner as the background with the white fence blur. That to me looks way too much like a software render blur. If you have taken photo's with PGR3 would agree that the blur is too smooth, cause consoles create the blur effect by repeatedly overlapping an image over itself and them bluring it. Its noticable in still shots, but not so much when its moving by really fast. Not mention if you look at the second photo, there is hardly anything in the background. All the rendered footage has the whole course built out. Granted its probably the same course everytime. But these images look way to empty as well.

Ok...so I just went to a xbox site, copied a picture of forza 1, and did some motion blur.

It looked almost identical....except the resolution.

ANYWAY in three days 2006.09.05 there will be official screenshots shown.

They better not rush a game like Forza just so it can kill the hype for the PS3 and Wii. Or i will be really pissed off :/

Alice I'd say its more wishful thinking to believe the game would look anything like what we are seeing here. With the shader power of the 360 they'd absolutely not use shaders to any effect in what is suppose to be a big first party title? What we are looking at here folks is a lack of serious shaders on the road or cars, grass that looks so terrible it could be put in a ps2 game, blur not wanting to show off the environments (because it would help show us just how fake it really is), Just the wireframes they've released of the game alone look much better.

Anyone think its a coincidence these screenshots came out a day after assassins creed was found out to be coming to the 360 at the same time as the ps3 version? I'd this is some sort of backlash designed to make the 360 look bad because I can't guarantee 100% forza 2 will absolutely not look as terrible as what we are seeing here. The forza developers not saying anything regarding the pictures is a smart marketing move. As chu said "are they fake? Are they real? Building more excitement? Eh... in order to do that, the screenshots would have to be awesome. More like curiosity. Which killed the poor kitten btw.

These screenshots may very well be real. But how old are they? That's the question which should be asked. If you think every next-gen game started out looking like PGR3 on crack, then you're most definitely ignorant.

The final game will no doubt look better than this, but will they look as good as the prerendered E3 trailer? Um... we'll see.

This looks no better than Gran Turismo 4 HD for PS3, which is embarassing considering that's just a port of a PS2 game.

But it is likely these are screens from an early build, hence the guys at Turn 10 not being able to say they're fake. I think they'll be releasing OFFICIAL screens next Tuesday to show that the current game looks better than this. (It damn well better)

Itain i'm not some idiot I'm aware that games don't start out looking better than pgr3, but at the same time nobody would be dumb enough to believe this right here represents forza motorsport 2 upon completion.

Of course. These screenshots by NO means represent the final version of the game. But like I said, it's very possible that they're real.

the framerate of PGR3 was low , i hope that forza2 improve this to a more realistic frame rate,,,,

thanks god that i return the game to the shop , £35 is money.

Bottomline these are not real and I hope to see some real ones today. This game should be the next big racer.
