	NextGen conducted a phone interview with the CEO of Immersion Technologies, the people who own the rights to rumble in control pads. According to Vic Viegas (Immersion CEO), he is glad Sony figured out that it was not a technical problem that prevented the rumble from being included. He also says that his people knew it the day after the original press release about the PS3 pad was released. Sounds like fightin' words! >Link

of course he has to be careful with his words because he doesnt want to lose future business with sony, but he has been saying from the beginning that sony is full of shit.

Clearly SONY is making excuses for the lack of rumble, but if totally legitimate for SONY not to include it if they dont want to. Inmersion hasnt been very frendly to SONY (from a business standpoint), why SONY must give them more money? in the middle of this conflict gamers are being screwed.

Immersion was having their patented technology stolen by Sony. Sony was not willing to pay royalties to Immersion. Sony got away with this theft for several years, but once Immersion won the battle in the courtroom, it cost Sony a LOT more than if they would have settled out of court.

The really sad thing is that Sony is unwilling to pay for this technology now. Rumble and Vibration have become such standard technologies in the world of videogames. It really is a shame to think of playing a college football game or a pro football game, or a boxing game, or a shooter without the controller vibrating. I think that is perhaps the biggest disappointment of the Playstation 3.

immersion is only keep buggins sony is gonna lose or saying the negative things about sony so they can force them self to go with rumble but either way, immersion screwed sony for good and they even got so much money ! now that sony probably will go with immersion, its only because sony knows they are screwed, n ow with immersion they don't care, since microsoft is with them !

The thought of a football game, boxing game, fighting game, shooting game, hockey game, and/or so many other games without rumble/vibration is a terrible thing. Sony messed up BIGTIME!!!
