A taste of Gears of War... >

	So if you own an XBOX 360 and haven't picked up a copy of Gears of War yet, without waiting to hear our review, we'd like to recommend it. To give you a taste of some of the gameplay without really spoiling things, I got a quick clip of one of the sections early on in the game. Click the read more link to see the video. The setup for this is that it's getting dark and you're trying to get to a safe zone (if there was one). This clip should show you some of the varied gameplay elements featured in Gears. Believe me, there's much cooler stuff in the title, but this should give you a taste. I must apologize for my n00b shooting skills and camera work, please be gentle.

I thought this game would look better ... isnt it supposed to be a technology demo?

It's Youtube video that was captured in 480i. Believe me, it looks amazing in 720p.

youtube does make videos look like shit. I wouldn't judge the quality of the visuals on a youtube vid

ya remember guys, this is SD video level, the game looks awesome indeed but to capture HD video it requires some serious, and we mean SERIOUS, hardware.

And even if you do have the hardware to capture HD Video it usually still can't match the actual game being rendered from a machine :)

I rocked the game for about 4 hours last night and it is well worth the scores it is getting. This is the reason we all bought a 360 IMO.

Can't wait to play it today(not until 3pm), when I get off work. The reviews are making the game sound like it lives up to all the hype.

I'm just happy to have a game that is "next gen" worth playing. It has been a long wait.

This game is fairly difficult on "Normal" setting. I'm not overall impressed with control response either. Trying to activate the chainsaw in the heat of battle is more difficult than it should be. Also, it doesn't appear to work while you are in the middle of reloading, as in if you are attacked while reloading, you don't have the option to turn the chainsaw on. It's a great looking game, very fun. Like every game, it has flaws, these just happen to be irritating as hell.
