Epic & id Both Went Multi-Platform Because Of PC Piracy >
2007/03/10 21:45:53: Posted by DM
In two separate speeches at the GDC this past week, representatives from both id Software and Epic said that they both decided to go multi-platform because of PC game piracy. They both admitted that most PC users who would spend $600 on a video card, would also know how to use bittorrent to download Unreal or Quake. That is why they both decided to look towards the consoles, even though they did not necessarily want to.

Anyone can just find a console game on torrents too. I guess having to 'mod' the console is the difference.

You can buy a modded console cheaper than the retailer version in some places.

I've see console games in torrent for all kinds of games.

Someone should come up with a proper way in stop piracy, cos the disc is not looking so good.

Since these consoles all have updateable firmware, that kind of screws some of the idiots out there who have had their consoles modded. Only the idiots though...

Like you....ahahhaah

THE MOST IMPORTANT THING TO REMENBER:

the ps3 IS THE MOST SECURE CONSOLE OF THE WORLD EVER...I HIGLY DOUBT THAT THERE WILL BE ANY EMULATOR FOR THE PS3 OF EVEN ANY MODCHIP.

tHE FANTASTIC CELL ARCHITECTURE IS BEST EVER , IN ITS MANGNIFICIENT COMPLEXITY , THERE NO HANCKER CAPABLE OF CRAK THE PS3.

THE XBOX360 HAS CRAKED ONLY 2 MONTHS AFTER ITS RELASE THANKS TO POor ms software development.

ANLYSTYS PREVIEW THAT MICROSOFT WILL LOSE THE WAR , IS GREAT PART BECAUSE THE PIRATY AND CHEAP DVD9 RECORDING...THE PS3 DISCK ARE TOO EXPENSIVE AND IMPOSSIBLE TO COPY.

I've purchased all of the games I own legally. What bugs me the most about it all is that companies have moved to proprietary disc formats to avoid disc duplication and piracy. Since my Sega CD died, I've been using my PC to play my Sega CD games. I won't ever be able to do that with my (about 100) original XBox games, which forces me to rely on MS's Backward Compatibility. So when my XBox kicks the bucket, it's safe to say I'll have about 50 games that will be dust collectors.

Read the news Tecno_Geek. Hackers have managed to crack both HD-DVD and Blu-Ray.

And don't think they won't make a mod chip for the PS3, the hackers just have to buy a PS3.

Hey there are to cheap to buy original game.

They already have an ISO loader for the ps3 floating around. And I would take that over the dvdrom drive mod bs that's out for the 360.

Tecno_Geek, anything that man makes, man can destroy. You won't ever find anything that isn't crackable. At least not in my lifetime.
