This is a trend that will help the Games for Windows compatibility between Xbox Live online gaming and Windows Live online gaming.

The more members, the happier everyone will be. It's free and it only takes a couple minutes to sign up, so it isn't a big deal.

How is this a bad trend? don't you need a gamespy account to play most Pc games and some you need a log in account from the developer. This is nothign new with Pc games. Live will help PC games.

This is just another attempt of M$ trying to take control of the PC gaming market.

Games for Windows my ass. The PC was always, to me, the most flexable of the gaming consoles but now M$ just has to f**k everything up.

As stated before, most games require you to sign up for an account anyways, whether it be with GameSpy or the actual developer (i.e. EA, Sega). This is really no different. Everyone is getting into a big huff about this when, truthfully, everyone else has done it for years.
