Square Enix Releases Statement Regarding FFXIII Release Date >
2008/01/30 12:10:30: Posted by DM
Square has released a statement regarding the release date rumors about Final Fantasy XIII circulating the net. Basically, you can disregard any reports of confirmed release dates that have been reported. There is no official timetable set yet. Oh well.

Although information regarding the release date of FINAL FANTASY XIII has been reported by certain videogame websites, Square Enix itself has yet to make an official statement on this topic. Any reports of a confirmed release date are erroneous and should be disregarded.

well, just because they say ignore all reports of a release date, doesnt mean urdnot was correct. square just says to ignore those reports, they didnt say anything about it coming out in 09.

True..still okay think about it, If and i mean 'IF' it said it was coming out in possibly late 2008...it will get delayed into 2009. its a fact it wont come out in 2008, now i say fact cause FFXIII is a big game and Square is going to want that game perfect, i mean perfect. now im not a fan and never have been cause i really dont like games where you have to attack someone and wait for them to attack you, while you just stand there, i kinda want to stand by krogan cause honestly...he's right. just wait and see, if it comes out there will probably be alot of people complaining cause it should come out in 2009. it will give Square even more time to make the game's i hate better.

Square is going to take the saying Wait Beyond to whole other lever. FFXIII=Star wars for Queers. I can't say I never played the game, I just never played it past 5 minutes, to afraid of that retarded wtf look stuck to my face. If there is a line outside the gaming store for this game when its released I'm going to be sitting outside with Eggs in my hand.

I have come here to do two things:

(1) Chew bubble gum

and

(2) Laugh in the face of the few remaining blind lemming PS3 fanboys who continued to be gullible enough to believe "erroneous" information that "certain websites" reported on, due to the fact that those "certain websites" were also gullible enough to believe the very unreliable Famitsu magazine.

* And I am ALL OUT OF BUBBLE GUM!!!

I would like to Officially thank The Ow In Wow8 for his encouraging words that he took the time to publicly write, and the nice private message that he and several others sent to me.

Normally, I am not an arrogant guy, and I am not the kind of person to say, "I told ya so." I am not trying to be mean or rude when I say that a game won't be released during a certain time period, such as 2008. I am simply trying to help fellow gamers when I point out that games like Final Fantasy 13 and FF13 Versus have absolutely zero chance of being released in 2008.

A system associated with so many hardware and software lies--the PS3-- shouldn't be allowed to take credit for "A lineup of 2008 games," that does not really exist. This is especially true when such a large percentage of games such as FF13, FF13 Versus, Haze, and others likely won't be released in 2008.

It's also important to remember that Haze was originally announced for PC, Xbox 360, and PS3. Ubisoft makes a point right now of NEVER mentioning the word "exclusive," when they talk about Haze. Ubisoft has said that they have decided to only preview the PS3 version, because they "decided to show it some love." That is business talk for saying, "Sony is paying us to only preview the PS3 version." But you can be 100% confident that Haze will be released for PC and Xbox 360, as well.

Keep in mind that Final Fantasy 13 Versus was never listed as an "exclusive," game. And keep in mind that Square-Enix said from the beginning that Final Fantasy 13 and Dragon Quest likely would appear on multiple platforms.

Final Fantasy 13 and Final Fantasy 13 Versus will be released for the Xbox 360, in addition to the PS3.

Remember, Square-Enix supports the Xbox 360 signifcantly more than the Playstation 3.

Remember, the Xbox 360 has received MULTIPLE Final Fantasy software products, with more on the way!

I have to say, as a Krogan Battle Master, this is the sort of Victory over the immature smart-alec people that would motivate me to retire, as a champion!

as far as my count goes, the XBOX 360 has only received one FF game, FFXI and an expansion. i'm assuming that because its more then item you can say 'multiple' although its still just one game. and after a bit of research, i cant find anything else FF on the 360, or coming to the 360, besides the rumors and such. everything else is on the PS2, PSP, and nintendo gamecube/DS. so, no... square-enix doesnt support the 360 'significantly more', especially after this bit of news came out

hxxp://xbox360.ign.com/articles/794/794164p1.html

you remember the 'completely blank' for the 360 remark, right? i guess that scratches the "more on the way" statement :P

and go ahead and copy and paster whatever it is you want to say about how "ps3 is harder yada yada yada" and "360 is superior blah blah blah" and "FACT 'insert rambling here' with your usual "NUFF SAID" ending. whethers its in 08, 09, 2010 or 2020, i'm gonna enjoy my Final Fantasy on my PS products :D

oh, and about how you state "Ubisoft makes a point right now of NEVER mentioning the word "exclusive," when they talk about Haze", here's a quote from Yves Guillemot, chief executive officer at Ubisoft...

"“Ubisoft and Free Radical are thrilled to be introducing Haze exclusively for PS3 this holiday. When you combine Ubisoft’s reputation for top quality FPS games, Free Radical’s outstanding track record on SCE platforms, and PS3’s power and network functionality, it is clear that Haze will open up a new arena of entertainment possibilities for players everywhere.”

that was at Sony's e3 2007 press conference, so ya, the holiday thing didnt go out well, but ubisoft said it themselves "ps3 exclusive"... so you can delete that from your list of ramblings about how they dont say "exclusive" with "Haze"

oh crap... i justed urdnoted that post!

Response to incoming00:

(1) That old article you posted is from the summer of 2007--back when certain games were supposedly PS3 exclusive, but were eventually announced for Xbox 360.

(2) And both of the paragraphs use the word "currently," very carefully.

In fact, the third paragraph--written by IGN--specifically says that strong sales had the ability to influence Square Enix in a way that will cause them to have "a change of heart."

(3) The man IGN interviewed SPECIFICALLY said, "As for FF on the Xbox 360, it's CURRENTLY a completely blank page."

But that man was proven to be an UNRELIABLE source, because there was a Final Fantasy software product called Wings of the Goddess that would be released for the Xbox 360 in late 2007.

(4) UPDATE: The "completely blank page," that Mr. Hashimoto was referring to in the summer of 2007 was "WRITTEN ON," as of late 2007.

There has been another Final Fantasy software product released for the Xbox 360, called "Wings of the Goddess"...and there is ANOTHER one on the way with a release date that has yet to be determined!!!

That makes TWO additional Final Fantasy software products that are CURRENTLY (as of 2008) written on the page that was PREVIOUSLY (summer of 2007) blank.

(5) incoming00, remember the good-ole days when EA, Capcom, Sega, and Ubisoft said in interviews that Fight Night Round 3, Devil May Cry 4, Virtua Fighter 5, and Assassins Creed were "currently" only planned for PS3...just keep that in mind and use it as a measuring stick as to WHY Square Enix ended up joining that club of "changing their mind," due to the hardware sales success and software sales success of the Xbox 360. Each of those games ended up on the Xbox 360, and in this case additional Final Fantasy products can say the same.

(6) If you compare the number of software products that have been released for Xbox 360 to the Playstation 3, there is no doubt that the Xbox 360 does receive far more support from Square Enix.

The newest Final Fantasy 11 software release adds some really cool features to the Final Fantasy universe that FF fans have appreciated.

incoming00...you remember the "written on" EVIDENCE for the Xbox 360 update? We NOW know for a FACT that it means that the page was "written on," AFTERWARDS, and will CONTINUE to be "written on," in the future.

The FACT is that we will see Final Fantasy 13 Versus and Final Fantasy 13 on the Xbox 360.

Too many Japanese developers have slipped up and indicated what projects they are working on. Same thing with Metal Gear Solid 4 on the Xbox 360.

wings of the goddess was the expansion i was talking about :P

and i can understand if there were like 11 games from square-enix to be considerd 'far more support' for the 360, but not when its 1 game with 1 add on. but then again, your definition of a game being 'far superior' can be meassured as being as low as a .1 difference in scores

Response to incoming00:

Square Enix has released more Xbox 360 games than PS3 games...that's for sure.

Square Enix doesn't even deny that the Xbox 360 is their #1 next-gen system that they support right now. A Square-Enix representative said something to the effect of, "I never thought I would be standing here with Microsoft as the videogame software sales leader, but I am, and that is where we are focusing our support."
Written by incoming00 on 2008/01/31

i'll give you that one. the XBOX 360 has 1 game and 1 add on for the 360, while the PS3 has 0 with 2 being worked on. but i would like to ask you, where did you find that quote or did you just make it up? cuz i sure cant find anything like that and a quote like that wouldve spread all over the gaming websites like wildfire. not hidden away to where only you can see it
Written by blacktiger on 2008/02/01

i find that funny since square never made any comment but ignore.... there are lot of developers realease in fall in any year... so why is krogann thinking delay and cancelled?

ONCE ANSWER CAUSE HE HATES SONY AND MAKES SHIT UP, AND WHENEVER ANYTHING HAPPENS AUTOMATICALLY HE'S RIGHT CAUSE HE GUESS AND IT CAME OUT GOOD !:) sorry for the caps :p

and i don't think kroganato knows what exclusive means...
