Key Metroid Developers Leaving Retro Studios > |

According to Shacknews, senior members of the Metroid Prime development team at Retro Studios (owned by Nintendo) have left the company. Both the art director and head tech engineer were among the departed. No word yet as to what their next step will be, but lately it seems to be the trend to split off, form a dev house, make one decent to good game, and have a big publisher buy you up. That's just our take, though.

Word on the street is that some of them want to go to Rare, because Rare is one of the best development companies out there.Perfect Dark 2 is going to be AMAZING!

Why is Rare one of the best ? Because Rare is now owned by Microsoft...LOL ? Perfect Dark for the 360 was average at best so i wouldn't get my hopes up on part 2. I remember how hyped the multi-player was for the 360's launch and i also remember how bad it was.
No doubt Rare is talented but i don't think their style of games are best suited for the 360's older audience. It's to bad M$ owns them because they make kiddie type games that would be great on the Wii.
Rare's style is kind of a lost art now a days though... I'm sure thats why M$ snatched them up. Hopefully PD2 is great... I'll believe it when i see it though.
