Achievements where you dont' even have to challenge, I heard you can do little things without playing anyone can get you achievements, whats the fun to that !

Whatever Dudeman. Run damage control for the SDF. PSN is broken. Your stupid a$$ firmware update is so worthless. One whole game with Trophy support. Still can't do in game invites from XMB. No games support in game custom sound tracks. No voice chat. You can't change a damn thing from in game XMB. You still have to leave the game to do squat. Plus you can't do sh!t when watching your movies. WTF is this. You claimed PSN > Live. Wii online > PSN is more like it. Ok now that you finally listed your gamertag correctly I can see that you own a 360... If you read my posts you would see that I clown on the PS3. I'm not anti PS3. I'm just anti Sony. I have explained to everybody and thier mom that Sony pissed me off last generation when their overhyped PS2 killed the Dreamcast and then this generation with them trojan horsing Blu-Ray, launching at such a ridiculous price, delaying the launch, and not including force feedback.

I was even stupid enough to pay $500.00 for a 60GB PS3 last year. Of course it helped that I got a DirecTV rebate of $300.00 to offset some of the cost. But PSN just sucked. What good was a friends list of you couldn't talk to them from in the game or get into the game they were playing. I will say this. I miss playing Warhawk. The wife misses Super Rub A Dub. And I have 6 Blu-Ray movies that are collecting dust... If PSN ever comes close to offering what Live does, let me know. I will gladly wait B3yond um I mean Play B3yond again

The xbox defense force sausage smuggling whiners need to get a new argument. The new PSN is very serviceable and is on a system that works. I actually have 2.4 installed and it works well. The trophy system is more in depth than the point system xbl uses. I used cross game chat on xbl (been a member for 5+ years now) a total of 2 times for about 1 minute and 20 seconds total. It's not a necessary feature, and certainly isn't worth $50 a year.



In game invites would be nice on the PSN, but really it's not hard to set up servers and have lock it out for friends only. Some people need M$ to hold their hands I guess. I need them to fix my d@mn 4th broken xbox.

To be honest, I myself never cared for this whole achievements/Trophies system. It's a gimped way to force you to replay the game just to show off how much of a l33t nerd you are. I'd rather replay a game for content not for points and pixles.

The trophies sytem is such a cheap imitation its ridiculous, anyone who thinks its better than the 360's achievements is just convincing themselves otherwise because there fanboys.

alright now, €50 a year is €30 a year, if your going to maon about that then your just a cheap ass and if you have a ps3 and 360 then that means yor not so in the end it just comes down to been a fanboy. Sorry Nemesis, the trophies system is deeper than the point system. Date stamps, breakdown of accomplishments through tiered trophies which increase your gamerrank rpg style is much better than a simple accumulation of numbers.

M$ is not fixing my 4th broken 360. The "as of yet unconfirmed" dead PS3's due to 2.40 are very limited in scope.

A few 360s were bricked with an update a couple years ago and a couple PS3 are bricking now, These things happen with updates. I don't see what all the mud slinging is about.

Alright than Vaevictus, for date stamps the 360's achievementshave unlocking dates, whats the difference between unlocking dates and date stamps? tiered trophies, what about stackable achievements also with a discription of how the achievements when unlocked. increasing your gamer rank isn't that not just the same as attaining a certain amount of trophies, whats the big difference than unlocking a points milestone with achievments. The 360's version is only missing it actually saying you have unlocked your 10,000th achievements points. i'm not defending the achievements system i just think the ps3's version is worse.

why isn't MS replacing your 360? thats pretty unlucky your 4th's broke. check out the ps3 forums you'll see alot of people complaining about dead ps3's, they where saying its not the update itself but the process of installing the update thats killing the ps3's.

The process of installing the update causing failures was b/c people were shutting their systems down prior to the update installing. Sounds like user error to me.

The trophies unlock dates and time

The trophies are tiered for all to see:

bronze--slowly increases overall gamerrank

silver--increases gamerrank a little more quickly

gold--increase gamerrank more quickly

platinum--greatly increases gamerrank, will be in HOME

i'll wait till home comes out till i properly judge the trophies system. the trophies system has been out only a few days so you can't really use that line i don't have both systems because you don't have great experience using the trophie system either. Anyway the Wii is still my favourite Console, Resident evil 4 gets played through at least once a month an with SSB i don't need another console.

I have watch this site for a while now and just don't understand the sony/ms hate. I own both consoles (360/ps3) and enjoy both. Both have their pros/cons. I just don't understand the bashing. At the end of the day it is just a video game console.

Nemesis, I can use that line b/c the trophies will be the same for all games that include them from here on out. It is more in depth, bottom line. As for the Wii, congrats on overpaying for last gen technology and even moreso for enjoying a last gen port as your favotire game. FWIW, gamecubes cost about $30 and the GC version of RE is about $10. The rest of the Wii software aside from the rehashed Nintendo franchises is nothing short of laughable. Basically what I'm trying to say is, pot meet kettle.

VaeViatus is laughable....LOL. Saying the "CRIPPLED" firmware and trophy system is better than achievements is illegal. The new firmware don't even let you invite friends while your playing a game. What was the point ? That was the whole point of adding this function IMO. I guess they can add this feature later, but once again everyone will have to "WAIT B3YOND"...LOL. When you do bring up the dash it takes like 3 seconds for everything to load on the screen...LOL. I guess it doesn't matter because the PS3 STILL has virtually NOTHING to play online that isn't on both systems. Sony adds a trophy system, but we have to wait for a patch to even be able to unlock them...LMFAO. What a joke, Whats even worse is most old games won't even support trophy's and some of the ones that do run a good chance of having to be replayed to unlock them. Again, thanks, but no thanks Sony. Six months ago, Sony fanboys were saying achievements were unnecessary and now that they "FINALLY" have their own version 2 years later it's the holy grail...LOL. All i see is low resolution textures and developers jumping ship because the PS3 is so hard to develop for. I agree DM... I had my fingers crossed that the trophy system would be better than achievements and learn from it's mistakes, but it's not/doesn't. How can you release a new trophy system and have virtually no games support it ? It's just laughable...LOL. And then to have the SDF come on here and act like it's the Jesus Christ of gaming when you can't even use it.

Sony should have at least waited until some of the patches were ready so people could actually use the feature. You STILL can't invite friends from the dash...LOL. Why even add the XMB feature if you can't send friend invites ? When will we finally get it ? Probably when HOME finally drops, but who knows when that will be.

Everyone with a PS3 just waits and waits for Sony to match the 360, but now it's 2 years later and everyone's STILL waiting. Everyone's waiting for these incredible graphics and "Must Have" exclusive games. By the time Sony does get their sh!t together, Xbox 3 talks will start to surface and no one will even want to buy a 360/PS3 unless the price is undeniable. I want the PS3 to be great, but time is ticking and Sony continues to under deliver.

jb33, I can use my 2.40, so I'm not sure why you are saying I can't. You do realize 2.40 was a bit more than trophies alone right? You see, Sony has made tons of mistakes with the PS3. I've said that numerous times in the past on this very site. I've even said that if Sony absolutely copied every aspect of XBL for PSN that I'd pay for it. So what you guys fail to see is that I'm not so blind as you might think. The problem is that you guys are so blinded by your infatuation you are inable to have a decent conversation.

The PSN is no XBL, and the XBL is no PSN. I pay for the features I like on XBL (better in game utilities), I don't pay for the features I like on PSN (dedicated servers for huge mp games) I happen to think the trophy system is better than the point system. Pimpdaddy, tonight I get to go buy another 360 ( I like Gears too much) so you'll see my gamertag active once I finally get some decent help from 1-800-4MXbox. This time I'll buy the longest warranty possible so MS won't bend me over as they have to this point. From not fixing my console when I sent it in the last time to not covering this one (not RRoD, but a broken hard drive so I lose everything) at all. Considering their terrible history with this console which is unprecedented (so yeah, I guess the 360 was original in some areas, congrats), for them not to take responsibility for this is deplorable, and there is no defense for that. I have been a very good customer since Xbox 1 days and have been an XBL subscriber since it's inception. You can see why I may have a bad taste for MS right now.

jb33, I've seen some incredible graphics on the PS3. MGS4, Uncharted, CoD4, Unreal Tourney 3, Gran Turismo 5 Prologue, so I'm not waiting for anything. The online isn't as bad as you might think. I play with buddies all the time with ease. Again, you speak from an indoctrinated vantage point as it is apparent you have 0 experience with the console.

I can rag on the 360 too. The arcade sku is a joke, they should have kept HDD's standard. Why not include wifi??? They added HDMI later but it's not even HDMI 1.3 its HDMI 1.2 Why not make that available at launch. Whats the deal with with the proprietary HDD's that cost out the a$$. Why do an optional HD-DVD add on. We all knew Blu-Ray would win.

Notice a pattern here. All of these things I mentioned that suck about the 360. Well the PS3 got it right. They both have their advantages and disadvantages. It's just my opinion that right now for my money the 360 is the best console this generation. Largest/best games library. Best online service. Best controller. Thats what I look for in a videogame console.

Look SDF can say RROD. Xbots can say Live > PSN. SDF can say Blu-Ray. Xbots can say more games, rumble from day 1, we got our console a year before yours, etc... We could do this all day...

Sony claimed this gen starts when they say so...LOL. What happened ? All i see is missing features and broken promises. I want the PS3 to be great, i really do, but how long do we have to wait ? I don't favor any company, but right now the 360 defiantly has my respect because they created arguably the greatest console ever. It's online is spot on and it has games coming out of it's ass. You can argue that Sony offers online for free, but in it's current state, would you actually pay for their service ?

It's funny that 2 of those "INCREDIBLE" looking games you list are on the 360...LOL. It's also funny that them same games preform better on the 360 minus the install...LOL. People are already saying UT is smoother with less graphical pop-ins on the 360. I love Uncharted... In fact, It's one of my favorite games of all time. It's missing that selling point that Sony desperately needs though...ONLINE. GT5 is pretty much a overpriced demo... All graphics and no physics, but i will admit it looks better than any racer to date. It's NOT the funnest racer though, that award will go to Forza 2 because the gameplay is second to none. This could easily change if Sony added some physics in the full version though. I own MGS4 and the campaign is EPIC, but again, the online BLOWS.

Is it because you can't even unlock any yet ...LOL ? You have to admit that launching the trophy system and then having to wait for a patch to unlock them for every game was stupid. Hey wanna know something real funny? This wont even be a conversation in a year when the PS3 has already pumped out its updates, when the PS3 exclusives are in and working on there sequels,and all in the meantime XBOX has been doing the same thing, but PS3 will win, because the PS3 is simply a better system.

And something even funnier is that in 4 years this wont be a conversation either! According to the Aztec calendar, the world is ending in mid-december of 2012! In 2012 we'll be arguing about XBOX 540's, PS4's, and Alienware's next gen console!...Why so serious??

1. xbox 360 has the win over online, with its new marketplace coming out at the end of theis year, its gonna rock. you will be able to share movies and fially have group chats.

2.xbox 360 has a bigger selection of games

3.ps3 has better graphics

4.ps3 looks cooler

5.new 160 and 180 GB ps3 coming out

6.psn sucks

I don't really care about trophies/achievements because if you want to collect them all then it basically takes away your freedom to play the game how you want to play it. When I'm playing a game i don't want to be thinking, right, i need to kill the next 50 enemies with a grenade to get this achievement and the 50 enemies after that i have to shoot them in the head to get that achievement. I prefer to be free to kill them how I want, when i want.
