That makes Game #4 that is compatibility with Trophies!

At this rate, Playstation 3 will have Trophies in all previous games...NEVER!...

Especially when you consider that new games like Soul Caliber 4 are released that are NOT compatible with Trophies and are NOT compatible with Custom in-game Music, and are NOT compatible with Dualshock 3 controller Rumble!.

Mate, you love your Xbox. That's cool, Xbox's are cool. But only fanboys bash OTHER products they don't own. Grow up.

PSN trophies will become mandatory sometime in 2009 i believe. Trophies are still in their infancy. It's the equivalent of xbox originals not having achievements.

I'm glad Naughty Dog finally f@ckin released this patch. It gives me a reason to play through this great game again. The visuals in this game are top notch. IMO...Uncharted looks better overall than Gears Of War. The only reason i say that is because i keep reading posts around the net where people claim Gears looks 10x better. I will say it's damn close, but Uncharted looks better IMHO. Gears has higher resolution textures, but Uncharted just looks better overall as a game.

You don't really get to see much in terms of graphics from the Uncharted demo. The jungle part they show in the demo is probably one of the worst spots in the game in terms of graphics. The jungle just doesn't seem believable like the rest of the environments in the game. The jungle looks good, but it doesn't feel real like later levels do.

If anyone here owns a PS3 and has yet to play Uncharted, i recommend you try this great game. I wouldn't recommend buying it because it has no multiplayer like the rest of Sony's exclusives. Once you beat the game it's pretty much over unless you turn into a trophy*cough*Achievement whore.

BTW so far JB33 is the only guy I see on PSN with trophys. I am downloading the full game of Super Star Dust HD so I can be a trophy wh*re too. Oh and in-game XMB blows A$$. You heard it here first folks as DM would say :)

Yea...XMB is slow and feels tacked on IMO. I guess because it is slow and tacked on...lol ? I'm not a fan of Gears so maybe that helped Uncharted's cause in this battle. PimpDaddy...Have you ever played the full version of Uncharted ? I'm telling you...You'll probably be surprised at how good it looks.

Like i said above...Gears has higher resolution textures, so i guess it wins in terms of resolution, but Uncharted has a better overall look and feel IMO. Gears is very dark and repetitive while Uncharted is very bright and repetitive...lol. ? Uncharted is one of my favorite games of all time and Gears is one of my least favorite, so maybe that has something to do with my decision.

I honestly wouldn't play Gears if it was the only game left on earth. Theres just something about that game that i hate.

Oh and i can honestly say the Super Stardust HD is a great game. I have to admit..I was highly surprised at how good it was and how much i actually liked it. It has good graphics/Gameplay and actually provides a little bit of a challenge. I still wish i could use my 360 controller though...lol.

Well worth 10$ IMO...

I have played through both Gears and Uncharted entirely, and I have to give the edge to Uncharted in terms of graphics and singleplayer gameplay. Gears is a better game overall due to the co-op and multiplayer components. I own Uncharted and have been waiting for this patch to play through it again. Ironically I am also playing through Gears again with my gf as of 3 days ago.

PimpDaddy...If you haven't played the full game you should give it a rent when you have time. I guarantee it won't disappoint...

Well to each thier own. I can't argue because I am judging based off the demo. I will rent the game before comparing them again. I think art direction always plays a huge role in what we thinks looks better though.

If we are talking pure speed...XMB is faster than the cluncky blade system. There's a 2-3 second delay on the blades, but XMB in instant.

Uncharted > Gears for sure for graphics and art direction. Gears of War is pretty though.

My blades work fine Dudeman. I think the last Live update addressed that issue. Maybe you should jump back in and see what your missing.

There is nothing instant about in-game XMB. JB33 is right that sh!t feels like it was glued on top of games with that Elmers glue they use in school. And if you think otherwise maybe you sniffed too much of that stuff when you went to school :p

What model do you have? Are you talking about just the regular xmb or the ingame xmb after you press the ps button? The regular xmb is freaking LIGHTNING fast. My ingame xmb might have a 1 second delay, but that's it.

BenBen78: I agree with you that "fanboys" bash on other systems that they do NOT own...but what would you say if I have owned the Playstation 3 before, and TWO of them were defective!...That really happened! The fact that the PS3 has virtually no games to play, and doesn't come with high-definition cables is bad enough. But when you turn it on and it breaks, it SUCKS!



jb33: I can understand your opinion about graphics. Uncharted kind of reminds me of Dragon's Lair with the attitude that some people have about it's graphics. There's always going to be someone out there who says, "Dragon's Lair has the best and most realistic graphics I've ever seen!"

But from a technical point of view, Gears of War has Uncharted beaten in terms of graphics, just like most of the comparisons say. You are still entitled to your honorable opinion, though. I respect your opinion very much, because I don't think you are biased in any way. You call it down the middle like a fair sports referee.

Gears of War 2: Gears of War 2 makes a BIG leap in quality in terms of graphics! When you look at the sequals to the games from 2006, such as Resistance 2, Uncharted 2, and Gears of War 2, there is ABSOLUTELY NO DOUBT that the game that makes BY FAR the BIGGEST GRAPHICAL IMPROVEMENT is Gears of War 2!

Gears of War 2 is LITERALLY more graphically impressive than the version of Gears of War that was released for high-end PCs.



None of the other upcoming games have graphic environments with the combination of lighting, shading, high resolution textures, and polygon detail. The environments of Gears of War 2 that are full of flames COMBINED with the flame thrower and all the lighting/shading effects that occur is a MASTERPIECE.

The fact that you get to RIDE those HUGE bosses in Gears of War 2 is also astonishing!

I forgot the name of those BIG bosses...what are they called again?

Pimp you should definitely at least rent Uncharted. It's an amazing game that deserves to be played that is for sure.

What is really great is Uncharted looks better than Gears and it is only using 30-40% of the power of the ps3.

I will rent DudeRadier :p Just cant see buying a game that has no online play or apparent replay value after playing through it.

I dont believe these developers only using percentages of overall power. Nobody knows how far they can push either the 360 or PS3.
