Original Resident Evil Remake Heads To Wii > |
2008/09/25 10:20:57: Posted by DM | |
he original Resident Evil is getting yet another remake. This time, the Nintendo Wii will be graced with the presence of the campy voice-overs and jumpy moments. It looks fantastic too, according to CVG. Throw in support for the Wiimote, and we can look forward to one heck of a game.

This was one of my favorite GC games. I wonder though, how in the hell (am I allowed to say that?) would you make the Wiimote work with the fixed camera control scheme of the original RE?

A Capcom cash grab...what a surprise. A port of an old title on the Wii...what a surprise.

Capcom has cash grabbed for generations, this is nothing new.And it's a welcome port, thank you very much =pAlthough I'm confused to what's the point since you can play the original GC RE-remake just fine on the Wii.

A port of a port of a port with wiggle wand pedo-controls = fail.Wii=home to ports and shovelware, thanks for your $$.

Ummm no. A good game is a good game no matter where that good game calls home. =p
I would love a RE1 remake on the ps3/360, so I don't see where the bad news is here.

Been there done that. There are but a few games I'd ever want to revisit. RE1 is not one of them, but that's just my personal preference I guess.

Of all consoles that need new, fresh, original IP's, the Wii is it. It has nothing else.

Was your Ctrl and P keys stuck or something? lolThe Wii has plenty of fresh and original IPs. You just don't care for them.Again, if this was released on the 360/PS3, you wouldn't be so down on it regardless if you would even care to play it.
Hope you don't see me as arguing with you, but that's the way I see it.

Yeah, I would be down on porting RE1 once again on any platform.

Bet your perfectly happy with devs making small generic online shooter mods for the unreal engine 3.

It doesn't matter what the mods are making the community is effectively dead. Not to sound like an @ss, because it's just so easy for me, but I thought UE3 was supposed to have this extended life span on the ps3 BECAUSE of these said mods. Nice feature, but I'm happy to know that I was right in thinking that all that hype and fanboy banter never really amounted to sh!t in the long run.

Unreal Tourney 3 died b/c they released just a few weeks after CoD4. They shipped a great multiplayer game with a terrible single player "campaign." Speaking from experience, everybody on my PSN friends list played CoD4 forever. I'm having trouble peeling some away to this day for some Warhawk. I loved some of the mods for UT3, they were really good. I think timing killed this game from the start. It was just a bad idea to release it when they did. It's too bad really, cuz I loved the game.EDIT: to my previous post, I meant "I wouldn't be down with porting RE1 on any platform"

Regardless of the reason, which I can understand, it just ended up being a welcome but WAY overhyped feature.

I'd still be playing it if there were a community. The Downpour map (user created) was one of the best mp maps I had ever played. The mario map and the lego map (buggy, but cool) were both fun. It had potential, but just fell flat. Gears is Epic's new $$ maker as far as their own games are concerned.

Well what i meant was that 'proper developers' are making mods for the 'Unreal Engine 3' not UT, instead of real games. GoW *is* nothing but a small generic mod over the multiplayer component of the UE3 with a tiny SP campaign tacked along side it. Grey graphics with a few standard filters to make impressionable fanubs get excited coupled with *slow* easy/simple gameplay and the amount of 'kids' who play it is proof of this.

^^^Bitter much^^^
Look i own a Wii and I admit I like thier first party games as much as any other Wii owner. What the Wii lacks in graphical horsepower it makes up for in fun.
Why hate on something the Wii is incapable of producing? Such as HD graphics and a well executed online gaming service?
