Kameo: Elements Of Power

Its all about Perfect Dark Zero these days, sometimes people forget there is another Xbox360 title out there by Rare. That game is Kameo, and the game is certainly worth remembering.

Kameo’s life has been long and complicated, she has had slated appearances on three different consoles, and only made 1 date. She first was set to appear on the Gamecube, but that did not last long. Then Kameo migrated to Xbox where the game was near completion, yet she was thwarted once again. Now comes the final version of the game on the Xbox360, and boy are we glad she made us wait. Let’s talk turkey shall we.

Let me just get this out of the way right off the bat, this game is beautiful. All this talk about the Xbox360 just being an upgraded version of the Xbox can’t possibly be coming from anyone who has played through Kameo entirely. You may not necessarily like the style of animation used in the game, but you must acknowledge that it certainly is impressive for its genre. If you have not seen this game in full 720p glory we suggest you do so, the 480p mode looks good, to be sure, but you just will not get the full effect if you do not have a HDTV.

The game starts out, as most games do, with a level that teaches you how to work the controls. You begin as Kameo, an elf who has the power to transform into elemental warriors. You start the first level with Chilla, the ice elemental, Major Ruin, the umm, well I’m not really sure what element he represents, and Pummel Weed, one of the plant elementals. Of course, once you complete the level you are stripped of your powers and you must spend the rest of the game getting them back. Once you reach the end of the game you will eventually fight the troll king and Kameo’s sister, and that is all I will spoil for you about the story.
