PS3 PlayTV Files No Longer Copy-able, No HD Recording > |
2008/08/13 17:06:19: Posted by DM | |
Even though Sony Cambridge originally told Eurogamer that there would be no copy protection on the PlayTV service program files, and they could be moved freely to any medium, Sony has had a change of heart. Now, it seems, Sony has told Eurogamer that PlayTV will not allow saved video files to do anything but stream live to the PSP or record and play on the PSP. No reason for the change of heart was given, but what bad news. On top of this, PlayTV will not record HD signals at launch, and Sony is working on making it possible in future. Oh boy.

This takes away from the desire to own this type of service for a lot of people. In all honesty, offering this type of service really shows that Blu-ray has very little future...the fact that Sony (one of the developers of Blu-ray) is willing to offer the sort of online services that Microsoft approves of, it really shows that On-Demand is where the future lies in terms of technology.
I noticed that Dish Network is even offering programs in 1080p now. That means HD-DVD and Blu-ray are no longer the only formats to support 1080p video.

And Microsoft's, "there is no such thing as a faulty Xbox problem" is not a lie at all...

Microsoft lies???

I highly doubt anyone from microsoft said "there is no such thing as a faulty xbox problem". It isn't even grammatically correct for a start. I think i might go play some awesome games in 4d at 1080p @120fps now. Oh wait.....

MS usually denies everything until class action lawsuits are threatened.

true
where as sony denies on a right time, before the lawsuit, instead of fooling their consumer...
