The game itself also provides a number of modes for players, if you ever get bored playing the game than you are doing something wrong. The main menu pretty much consists of three choices. Campaign, multiplayer, and instant action. Keep in mind that the multiplayer and single player areas of the game basically function separately so when you are switching between them there will be a bit of a loading time. The Campaign menu is where you will be doing all of your single player work. You can start a new campaign or load one in progress. You can view “tips” on the game which really is just Ubisoft’s way of giving you advice on how to make your life easier in the single player mode. You will figure all of the “tips” out on your own by about level 2. Missions is where you can select to replay any of the levels you have completed. Statistics is where you can view your campaign stats, duh. The credits option is where you can view all of the lovely folks who have worked to bring you GRAW. That is about it when it comes to the single player campaign mode, I will take this opportunity to mention the next problem with GRAW. There is no sensitivity adjustment or legacy/southpaw control setup. You get three control choices and they are all basically the same. You can flip the Y-axis, and you can switch from FPS to over the shoulder mode. That is it in terms of configuration options. Now we can see that in multiplayer maybe they did this to keep the playing filed level, but single player? Definitely a gaping hole there, Ubisoft. The Instant Action option on the Main Menu is where you can play with up to four players on your local Xbox360. The game will select a random map and game mode for you, and the four player split screen is fine as long as you have a decent size TV. I would not recommend playing 4 players on a 13 inch black and white SDTV. |
