Electronic Arts has just announced it has acquired Mythic Entertainment. Mythic is best known for the MMORPG games Dark Age of Camelot and the upcoming Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning. The company will become EA Mythic upon completion of the acquisition, which is expected to happen during the second quarter of fiscal 2007. No word on how this will affect the games. Mythic has released the first set of screens and artwork for the upcoming Warhammer Online MMO game. The screenshots look like classic Warhammer scenes and charaters so at least the look will be preserved. No real info on gameplay yet though. Click on the news title for the screens.

THQ and Relic Entertainment have revealed new expansion details for the Warhammer 40k Dawn Of War franchise. Details are scant and the expansion is not even blessed with a name yet, but this franchise has stood the test of time.

We know there are a ton of Warhammer fans out there, so this should be right up your alley. GameZone has the first Warhammer Online development diary posted. They speak with Content Director Destin Bales talking about the pre-production process, the primary development features, the risks and schedule keeping, and the staffing and resource requirements. Not really substantial actual game stuff, but good nonethteless.

TotalVideoGames has a Warhammer: Mark of Chaos Q&A posted with the game's senior producer Chris Wren. Topics include developer Black Hole Games, the overall notion of the game, the army setup, resource management, base construction, the actual game engine, and the singleplayer campaign. This new PC title published by Namco looks like it should appease you fanatical Warhammer fans out there.

Tons of PC news and media coming in today. Namco sends along several Warhammer: Mark Of Chaos screens from the new Warhammer RTS game. This game is all about huge armmies clashing, and from the screens it looks like it is going to be beautiful. Click on the news title for the screens.
