So many things going on this week and last, well I will start out with a small personal note. As many of you have noticed, I’m sure, the reviews and media posting have slowed down a bit. The reason is because I am mainly in charge of filling content on GR right now, and as you may or may not know, I suffer from serious Rheumatoid Arthritis. Lately, it has been acting up more seriously than ever before; to the point where it is hard to even lift my arms to the keyboard. This is why things are so hard, just to fill the news. I never whine or complain, so I will not go on and on, but I just wanted to inform our readers, who are our heart and soul here at GR, what was going on. Eventually, I will get better, and things will pick up again. Thanks for keeping with us!

Now, on to my thoughts! First of all, I saw something this past week that made me furious. It seems that the Obama Campaign has placed ads for his presidential bid, into EA games, including Burnout Paradise. Now, do not get me wrong, frankly, I don’t think I’m going to vote for either candidate in this election, but to give one candidate that much of an advantage, without providing the same opportunity to the other, is just wrong to me. Besides the fact, you are putting these ads into kid’s faces that may not have any understanding of the issues behind the election, they just see an ad for a candidate in their game and say “oh cool, this guys is hip.” That is the kind of uneducated, thoughtless, voting that has put this country into the crisis we find it in right now. I know many people have very strong opinions about this election, more so than almost any other, but this is not the only Obama Campaign gimmick that runs along these lines. He also uses popular actors on teen drama shows to speak out and make statements like “if you are going to vote McCain, please, call us and we will drive you home.” As if it is as bad an act as driving drunk! This is dangerous, folks, and it needs to be discussed, at the least.

On a final note, I want to say that we have one heck of a Holiday Season coming up. There are tons of great games coming out, on all systems, although I would like to see more from Sony in-house studios. The reason I mention this is because you will likely be spending money like crazy, so I do not want you to miss out on any of the lesser games that are covered up by the bigger titles like Fable 2, Gears of War 2, Fallout 3, Killzone 2, Call of Duty 5, Little Big Planet, and more. Nothing really controversial about this, but just a friendly heads up! See you in the funny papers, folks. Keep gaming, and as always, write-in and keep us informed!
