AAAWESOME!!! Best DLC since... Sigma demo :P
Written by jockss2 on 2007/07/26

well the beginning is like a small video which is so beautiful then slide down some ropes and hit the buttons it tells you to do while avoiding men who are cutting the ropes and its fun and great then you havea large battle on a platform executing many combos and counters..then a second huge battle begins in the next area..then the demo is kind of over...pretty short but it does its job..and you know exactly how the gameplay is after that..i cant wait
Written by PSTreeSisty on 2007/07/26

Itaintrite : Sigma Demo Come On !? It Is The Same Freaking Game That Was Available On The First Xbox, Ok Ok More Details And you Can Play With The Chick But Still I Hate Ports From The Old Gen To The New Gen. And The Demo Is Just Wow ! I'm Glad That I Have Pre-ordered This Game 2 Months Ago ;)
Written by jb33 on 2007/07/26

This games pretty cool.... I'm not really a fan of button mashing/HacknSlash games though. I'm a little disappointed by the graphics....They look pretty good, but after seeing it being played at E3 i was expecting more.

I wasn't impressed by MGS4's graphics either, so don't trust my opinion. It's still a demo but, man i'm starting to wonder if the PS3 can keep up with the 360 in the graphics department. I'm NOT trying to start a war either fanboys.

We've seen MGS4-Killzone-Lair and now Heavenly Sword and the these are supposed to be Sony's big guns ? They look great don't get me wrong, but the 360 has plenty of games that look better than these.

In the end...It's not about graphics it's about gameplay and all of these PS3 games listed will almost certainly have great gameplay. I'm just really starting to wonder about the true graphical power of the PS3.

Time will tell...
Written by Sky on 2007/07/26

jb did u download the demo?
Written by jb33 on 2007/07/26

^^^Yes.... I just played it a second time and it's a cool ass game. I guess my graphic standards are just to high for the PS3 sometimes.
Written by jockss2 on 2007/07/26

umm ps3 crushes 360 graphics..ur high
Written by PimpDaddy on 2007/07/26

jockss2: ^^^Explain your theory. U better come correct with facts too. Show me crush. Because to me crush means that the graphics are so much better than any 360 game that I might as well trade my 360 in for a PS3 right now. When your done pulling that SONY D!CK from your A$$ and your foot from your mouth, feel free to respond.
Written by jb33 on 2007/07/26

jockss2...Please name some games that demonstrate the PS3 crushing the 360 in terms of graphics. I love my PS3, but man i'm starting to wonder about it's true graphical power.
Written by zwandaba on 2007/07/26

jockss2 is probably talking about the 4D graphics he is seeing, sucking Sony dick will do that to you!!
Written by B1ueBurneR on 2007/07/26

@SKY you are too funny man, you just come out of the dark, to defend the PS3 (if he didn't download the demo, I know you were getting ready to fire,.. )

@JB33, The PS3 graphic card can not out due the 360, I'm glad your finally seeing the light, The PS3 can out due the PS3 in terms of Physics, 7 SPE really 5 thats being used in games is really good at number crunching, hence the use of its calculating power to help in the cure for cancer.

@Jockss2, please name a game that crushes the 360 in graphic, CUT SCENES do not count.

@PimpD, I think Jocks22 is really Ken Kutaragi in disguise.
Written by steve_o_3000 on 2007/07/26

anyone that owns both consoles knows that statement is false. he probably thinks Killzone 2 is the best looking game ever too.
Written by PimpDaddy on 2007/07/26

jockss2: Maybe he is talking about that Super Rub a Dub Rubber Ducky game. I mean the graphics on that game are sick... Wish my 360 could do those. Damn maybe I have been wasting all my time "Jumping in" with real games, when instead I could have been "Playing Beyond" with some glorified PS3 tech demos. Damn where did I go wrong??? PS3, 4D, Blue-Ray, surf the internet, card media ports, wifi access, Linux, and the cure for cancer all in 1 box??? I F*CKED up. SH!T, I'm going to go take my life...
Written by Smarty Pantz on 2007/07/26

Just tried the demo.. they need to do some polishing of the graphics.. too much tearing for me. Looks great though, just fix the tearing... and, how the heck do you block?
Written by Fair and Balanced Tech Teacher on 2007/07/26

Pimpdaddy sure likes to talk about "dick's" being in "asses" a lot.

@jb33, I'm not sure what disappoints you about this game graphically, it's very good. Graphics and animations are both very solid. If you want to see bad graphics/animation, see Shadowun.

Both systems will have games that look great. Good graphics really is a matter of opinion. I think Drakes Uncharted promises the best graphics I've seen on a console yet. Killzone and CoD 4 also look terrific. It's all a matter of taste. The PS3 and 360 are both equally capable of doing as much as the other, though people do forget about RSX+Cell when comparing the two.
Written by B1ueBurneR on 2007/07/26

@Vae, Seriously, how you gonna compare Shadow Run, lol shadow run was mad to run low end PC for Balance between the console, so they both run smoooth, so ehhhh!!!! try again.

oh so now that you guys see the PS3 can't out due the 360 in graphics, you want to claim that they are equal... sounds like bullshit and hurt feeling to me Vae, I thought the PS3 was all powerfull supercomputer on crack.

Uncharted Looks good, but so did Heavenly Flop, until the demo. its all over the web that people are disappointed like Jb33..
Written by Fair and Balanced Tech Teacher on 2007/07/26

@ Blue, or Pimpdaddy, or whichever one you are BlueBurner, I've not seen the "disappointment" all over the web you've described. The only disappointment is that it was too short, other than that I've seen only good things about it...except for sites like this that are full of xbot apologists who can't enjoy games but have to resort to unfounded insults. Make excuses all you want for Shadowrun, fact of the matter is that it's a $60 game that is shit and is published by your beloved Microsoft.

You're convinced I"m someone else, that's fine, but you're wrong.
Written by PimpDaddy on 2007/07/26

Fair and Balanced Tech Teacher: Thats becuase I like to put my D!CK in women's A$$es. Nothing wrong with that us there VaeVictus??? Your right I did foret that the PS3 needed the Cell CPU + the RSX GPU to come anywhere close to the graphics the Xenox 360 GPU can produce by itself. Your right, I'm sorry it takes all of the PS3's capability to keep up with below average performing 360 games :p
Written by B1ueBurneR on 2007/07/26

First off I have 1 name, I don't need to hide behind another one to get my point across. I can't knock the game play, but I can knock the graphics, same goes for MGS4. These are supposed to be hard hitters (i'm assuming by all the hype)to show off the PS3 capabilites, Vae, why is it so hard for you to see that the PS3 is not the next-gen gaming system that you want it to be, its has next-gen stuff like wifi, blu-ray, linux, and surf the web, but when it comes to gaming in 07, Jump in on the 360. buddy..

Shadow run is a piece of shit game, I can't make excuse for that game.. just like how you can't make excuse for under performing choppy games with bad frame rates. But the system has the name sony on it so I guess that good enough for you Vae.

Heavenly Flop is a flop.. Mark my words..
Written by Krogan Battle Master Urdnot Wrex on 2007/07/26

I agree with everyone that it is now very clear that Heavenly Sword is "Heavenly Flop."

But, that comes as absolutely no surprise whatsoever. We need to remember that Heavenly Sword was offered to Microsoft FIRST for the Xbox 360, but Microsoft said they didn't want to fund the development of that game for the Xbox 360, because Microsoft was NOT impressed with it.

Remember, the group of developers who created Heavenly Sword (Flop), are the same group of developers who created the game called Kung-Fu Chaos that was such a flop. That game was such a flop that the developers literally were forced to change the name of their organization, because they had such a bad reputation for being unskilled developers.

One thing is clear: Heaven Sword represented a significant percentage of the "exclusive" PS3 games for 2007 (a sad truth), and people in all the Internet chat rooms and forums having given it the name Heavenly Flop, because it is that much of a disappointment.

And Heavenly Sword won’t be the only major flop for the PS3 in 2007. Lair has based its gameplay on the sixaxis control system, which is very imprecise. The whole reason why Warhawk was delayed over 1.5 years and had its controls completely redesigned is because it was originally based on the sixaxis control scheme. The developer of Warhawk was LITERALLY laughed off of the E3 2006 stage because of the poor control performance of Warhawk with the sixaxis controls that were so imprecise.

We need to remember that virtually all games using the sixaxis controls in a way that require precise movements have been very disappointing. The flight simulation found in Lair is something that is a HUGE gamble. That game could easily end up with terrible scores, just like Heavenly Sword (Flop).

And let’s be honest, Next-Gen didn’t even put Uncharted in their Top 20 list of most exciting games at the 2007 E3; it didn’t impress people. And Ratchet and Clank on the PS3 isn’t impressive at all; it simply looks like a PS2 version running in high-definition with some extra detail. It certainly isn’t the “night-and-day” difference that fans were promised.

If you want to compare the Graphic Performance and Technical Performance of the Games for the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3, just consider these VERY IMPORTANT FACTS:

(1) The ONLY place you can play Madden Football 2008 at 60 Frames Per Second of High-Speed High-Fidelity Visual Smoothness is on the Xbox 360. If you want the BEST version of Madden Football 2008, the Xbox 360 version is the one to get.

(2) The EXACT same thing goes for NCAA Football 2008 and All-Pro Football 2K8. Gamespot pointed out that the Xbox 360 version of NCAA Football 2008 runs smoothly at 60 frames per second at 1080p resolution, while the Playstation 3 version "struggles to run at 30 frames per second at 720p resolution.) 1up said you would be a fool to consider buying the PS3 version if you also own an Xbox 360.

3) That’s the advantage of the Xbox 360 having so much more polygon power than the Playstation 3. As the specs and the boxes on the systems tell us, the Xbox 360 can display 500,000,000 polygons per second, compared to only 275,000,000 polygons per second on the Playstation 3.

Polygon videogame graphic power is why the Xbox 360 versions of the Football games run at TWICE the framerate of the Playstation 3 versions. And that is important because those Football games are 2nd generation Playstation 3 games that will represent what the PS3 has to offer until the summer of 2009, when the PS3 will be close to its third birthday. Yet the Xbox 360 has such a HUGE advantage in terms of software performance.

(4) The ONLY place you can play Virtua Fighter 5 Online is with the Xbox 360. Even though VF5 was originally designed for the PS3, the Xbox 360 version has much better graphics and artificial intelligence. The Xbox 360 version also offers many more features as far as a quest mode is concerned.
Written by madgunde on 2007/07/26

Sorry guys, I have to chime in. There are games on both sides that outperform the other side graphics-wise. Oblivion and DiRT for PS3 have better graphics than the 360 versions for instance. MGS4, Heavenly Sword and KillZone 2's graphics kick ass, if you don't see that, you're either blind or can't see because your head is jammed too far up Microsoft's butt.

It's really too bad the 360 is held back with it's outdated and inadequate DVD format. Games that can keep up with the best the PS3 has coming out are either going to have to be short, or they'll span multiple discs, or they'll have to up the compression which will reduce picture and sound quality and reduce performance. It's like having a Ferrari with a 5 gallon gas tank (that's 19L for the rest of the world). The fact is there will be games for the PS3 that will simply not be possible to accomplish on the 360 because of it's technical limitations. On the other hand, there's nothing the 360 can do in a game that the PS3 can't.
Written by Krogan Battle Master Urdnot Wrex on 2007/07/26

*** NCAA Football 2008 runs at a smooth 60 Frames Per Second on the Xbox 360 in 1080p resolution, while the Playstation 3 version "struggles to run at 30 frames per second in 720p resolution."

THAT is a PERFECT display of the Xbox 360 graphics CRUSHING the Playstion 3!

Xbox 360 has other example of CRUSHING the Playstation 3 on that HUGE of a scale: F.E.A.R. is the PERFECT example of that.
Written by jockss2 on 2007/07/26

utp please shut up...and the games im talking about that crush are uncharted, lair, mgs4, killzone 2, and not to mention the games that are multiplat which look better on ps3..
Written by Cmoney on 2007/07/26

I dont understand people on this website.... can anyone answer why whenever any bit of news comes on here for the PS3 people have to bash it? I mean what the hell is wrong with ppl...
Written by Krogan Battle Master Urdnot Wrex on 2007/07/27

@madgunde,

I want to make several things clear to you about Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion

(1) The Xbox 360 version of Oblivion received higher ratings than the Playstation 3 version.

(2) In the dungeon areas of Oblivion, the Xbox 360 version has better graphics and better lighting than the Playstation 3 version.

(3) The Xbox 360 version of Oblivion has FAR fewer glitches than the PS3 version.

(4) The outdoor shader improvements that were included in the PS3 version of Oblivion were just a software advantage that were then released for download on the Xbox 360. That advantage in the PS3 version IS NO LONGER THERE!

(5) Oblivion is being re-released for the Xbox 360 as "Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion - Game of the Year Edition." It includes the Shivering Isles expansion pack in the game, just like the PS3 version.

(6) If a dual-layer DVD can has enough space for Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion AND the Shivering Isles expansion, then that is a PERFECT example that fewer than 1% of games require more space than a dual-layer DVD offers.

(7) A better "fuel comparison" would be if the Xbox 360 has enough fuel to take you to over 99% of the planets in the galaxy, while the PS3 gave you the ability to see 100% of the planets in the galaxy.

(8) Don't you think it's interesting that MGS4 apparently doesn't have enough space to include the online game on the same disc? The online mode is being released as a separate game. That SUCKS.

(9) Colin Mcrae Dirt Racing for the Xbox 360 has already been released for over a month. The Playstation 3 version STILL isn't released, and it has an "expected" launch date of September 3, 2007. That is very PATHETIC when you consider that Dirt is using a graphics engine that was co-developed by Sony and Codemasters. Only time will tell if the PS3 version looks better than the Xbox 360 version, and you need to remember that the PS3 version did have three extra months of development time. The developers of Codemasters would be sued by Sony if they said the Xbox 360 version would look better than the PS3 version. Let's wait and let the performance speak for itself...it should be quite easy for you as a PS3 fanboy, because waiting is all that the PS3 fanboys do, since there are no Playstation 3 games worth playing.

(10) Do you realize that only two Playstation 3 games have won the Editors Choice Award from Gamespot. And do you realize that BOTH of those games are also on the Xbox 360. And do you realize that BOTH of those games are rated higher on the Xbox 360!

(11) The Xbox 360 version of Oblivion has the Shiverling Isles expansion pack with THIRTY EXTRA HOURS of gameplay that aren't available on the Playstation 3 version.

(12) The Xbox 360 version of Oblivion has all sorts of extra features and armor not found in the Playstation 3 version.

(13) The Xbox 360 version of Oblivion lets the entire game exist at the same time. The Playstation 3 version cannot do that, because the Playstation 3 has a Memory Bottleneck problem that does NOT allow all of the areas of a game the size of Oblivion to exist at the same time.

*** 1up.com reviewed the Playstation 3 version of Oblivion, and the editors said it best: If you own a PC, and Xbox 360, and a Playstation 3, the LEAST DESIRABLE version of Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion is the Playstation 3 version.

*** jocks2, are you aware of the FACT that the gap in videogame performance is widening in favor of the Xbox 360! Multi-platform games have AlWAYS been better on the Xbox 360, but the gap in performance is getting BIGGER in favor of the Xbox 360.

Example: Call of Duty 3 on the Xbox 360 runs smoothly at 60 frames per second, just like Call of Duty 2. But the Playstation 3 version of Call of Duty 3 has a very choppy framerate; it tried to run at 60 frames per second, but couldn't do it consistently.

COD2 and COD3 were developed by different developers. COD3 was developed by Treyarch, and was in development for PS3 and Xbox 360 for an equal amount of time. Call of Duty 3 was Treyarch's first release for both systems, which means it was a first-gen release for both systems. The performance of the Xbox 360 is quite a bit better.

Now look at NCAA Football 2008, Madden Football 2008, and All-Pro Football 2008.

All three of those mult-platform games represent second-generation PS3 games that will display what the system is capable of until next august when the PS3 is close to its third year on the market.

Those three mult-platform Football games run at 60 Frames Per Second on the Xbox 360, but only 30 frames per second on the Playstation 3.

Gamespot pointed out that the Xbox 360 version of NCAA Football 2008 runs smoothly at 60 Frames Per Second at 1080p resolution, while the Playstation 3 version "struggles to run at 30 frames per second at 720p resolution."

That is a HUGE difference in Graphic Quality, Gameplay Quality, and Technical Performance Quality.

The Xbox 360 COMPLETELY outperforms that Playstation 3 in the area of multi-platform third-party releases!

(too short) nothing happened.
Written by CianMCL on 2007/07/27

krogan(UTP) we are all aware of these football games but they have very limited appeal here in europe. and AS FOR OBLIVION the game was out already. and according to your theory is all next gen games are made first on 360. then they are just ports from 360 to ps3. warhawk controls??? the tilt pad was just given to them shortly before E3 from previews now it sounds to be good.

so STOP recycling all these facts we heards loads of times we are sick of them. put the bottle down, move out of your parents basement and GET A LIFE
Written by etch on 2007/07/27

hahahahah nice one CianMCL all ive heard of from krogan is madden running at 60fps.... hey kiddo whats wrong with your head man? how many $ has MS paid you to bash sony?
Written by SupremeChaotic on 2007/07/27

And how is that so different than you Sony fan-boys spewing the same "facts" out over and over? Seriously, you guys are constantly saying that the PS3's graphics crush the 360's. But when the tables are turned and TRUE facts are provided, you want to complain that you're tired of hearing the same stuff. Guess what? No matter how much you complain, it's not going to help the fact that your statements are wrong and in fact looking to be quite the opposite.

And mrfrosty seems to fit the bill as a generic Sony fanboy... can't provide REAL FACTS to support his system so the only thing left to do is toss out unintelligent insults in hopes that educated people will rally to his cause.

Bravo, sir. You've managed to swing me to the Sony side[/sarcasm]
Written by B1ueBurneR on 2007/07/27

@Supreme Chaotice that well put, thank you.. I'm sorry you guys had to over Pay $600 for a piece of sh!t conosole LMAO!!!!! I wish I could put a clown with a sad face for PS3 owners, the is gonna be a good winter for gaming ...
Written by kungfurabbit on 2007/07/27

did i not play the same demo as you assholes. i thought heavenly sword was fantastic. i'm sorry but it looks better than alot of 360 games i played. the animation and graphics were sick. also i thought the gameplay video for mgs4 kicked ass.
Written by etch on 2007/07/27

havent played the demo again... first time played it though it kicked ass and instead of gamers being happy with what the PS3 is accomplishing xbots simplay bash the PS3 for no reason at all...
Written by Krogan Battle Master Urdnot Wrex on 2007/07/27

@CianMCL, lets get a couple things straight that the editors of 1up pointed out:

(1) All-Pro Football 2K8 was developed by 2K Sports--a completely different company than EA Sports, and it has the EXACT same performance advantages on the Xbox 360 that the Football games from EA do.

In other words, the game runs at a smooth 60 frames per second at 1080p resolution on Xbox 360, but "struggles to run at 720p resolution on the Playstation 3."

Those were the words of Gamespot, not me...and 1up takes it a step further by saying, "You would be a fool to consider buying the Playstation 3 version if you own both a PS3 and an Xbox 360."

The Xbox 360 clearly offers MUCH BETTER software performance in ALL situation!!!

(2) PLEASE LISTEN, CianMCL!!!!!!!!!!

*********** I have already told you this several times, CianMCL, but in the article that 1up wrote called "Pigskin [Football] Problems of the Playstation 3," it is made 100% clear that the developers of All-Pro Football 2K8 developed the game SEPARATELY for EACH system, and that it was, "Built from the ground up for both systems"!!! There was NOT any form of "lead-platform." The Playstation 3 Football game is NOT some sort of "port."

Yet the Xbox 360 version STILL offers FAR superior performance, in the EXACT same ways that the EA Sports Football games Madden 2008 and NCAA 2008 do.

Those three football games running at 60 frames per second at 1080p resolution on the Xbox 360, while "strugling to run at 30 frames per second on the PS3 at a resolution of 720p," make it 100% clear which system is VASTLY superior in terms of polygon performance! That is LITERALLY TWICE and many polygons being displayed in the Xbox 360 version!
Written by CianMCL on 2007/07/27

as long as the gameplay is good thats all i care about
Written by SupremeChaotic on 2007/07/27

Haha, Krogan had to spoon feed you everything and all you can say is "as long as the gameplay is good thats all i care about"? Wow, talk about a quick defeat there.

that bup there is posting excellence, where are the ps3bots, werent they the same who cauesed a furore about Halo 3 beta having simple graphics

o yeah i dont have a ps3 or 360 im still happy with my ps2 which is better than all next gen
Written by B1ueBurneR on 2007/07/28

@CiamCL don't worry your not missing out on anything, all the PS3 owners are playing PS2 Games anyway, they're all in a waiting period right now.

@Arthur56 everything the PS3bots come out and say something out of place, they get smacked down by Sony's garbage and/or truth and reality of things.. its a superior machine/calculator. Fools of Sony's hype.

Written by arthur56k on 2007/07/28

cianMCL, there you have just shown how ignorant you are, when the halo 3 beta came out, you guys had a ball on how the graphics looked dated, it did play very well, guess what, HS looks like crap, head over to kotaku to get anything extra on the whole chapter that the demo came out on, dont dish out anything if you cannot handle it, and how is the ps2 better than all next gen, keep living in delusion
