I guess they're trying to keep the price on the PS3 down.

They're probably going to have to if it's as expensive as I'm expecting.

Well, in the worst case, they'll be on level terms with xbox360, which didn't make the HDD standard either hehe.

I doubt the price will be a big deal as is the 360 can be seen as a $760 console. If you want all the nice stuff that goes along with it like extra wireless controller all the other nice accessories more than 3 games you'll most likely be paying around that amount.

You had some people that paid $850+ So it'll be interesting to see if the ps3 can push people beyond the $1000 mark at a retail store.

Alot of 360 bundles were well over a 1000, but if the ps3 is going to be as expensive as ken claims it will then be on the lookout for the ps3 to have a retail price of $499 or $599 for that matter I doubt we'll see $699 (if we do alot of people will be without ps3s I'm sure) I'm sure sony must see that they lost their 1080p as something that would justify the extra money so the lowest I'll expect to see the ps3 for is $499.

Which could easily make the ps3 a $800 to $900+ console if you want the extra stuff that is and most gamers do.

There is no way on release I am going to pay 500+ for a system and then dish out for an HDD. I got the 360 on day one for 400 w/ HDD and I am still happy as a pig in mud.

Makes you wonder how the specs on the PS3 will change from what was announced on E3 to the actual hardware released.
