	A high-res video of Warhawk from the PS3 GDC presentation has made its way on to the net. It looks pretty damn impressive now that we can actually see it. Once the timer is up, hit the X in the box that comes in its place and you will see the download link. >Link

It might not "look" impressive (although it does to me), but there are a LOT of stuff going on in the trailer that would probably choke most gaming PCs.

theres alot going on but theres no standout features... nothing that demonstrates the "supercomputer's" powers. dont see any signs of it being twice as powerful than the 360.

Sony is setting people up for dissapointment. Whenever people see gameplay movies now, they will be seing reality when what they expect is videos similar to what they have already been shown. Its not that the videos look bad though.

There are alot of people that think the ps3 is 2 teraflops and alot of people that think the 360 is 1 teraflop neither of the 2 consoles are even close to 1 teraflop. Microsoft tried to play a numbers game by adding up numbers without telling where they came from and arrived at that 1 teraflop number. Sony noticed that and added up their numbers so they could say they were 2 teraflops and bam therein lies the ps3 is 2 times more powerful than 360 talk lol. Sony said the rsx alone was 1.8 teraflops not true. Not even ati's x1900xtx which is better than the rsx is 1.8 teraflops its just over 500gflops.

You can't say this doesn't have any standout features. There are things that show how good the RSX + Cell combination really is. Like, clouds that use this thing called ray tracing and the realistic sea. Maybe they don't LOOK too much more impressive that has already been seen (although I think they do), but especially the clouds are great as a technical achievement. Ray tracing has never been done in games before (at least I haven't heard about it), and some even said it's not possible with the PS3, but as you can see, it is.

The rsx doesn't suck thats for sure, but the clouds can easily be done on a high end pc or the 360 (the clouds in warhawk are kinda low and make things look weird, but its no big deal i guess) One of the most impressive features is the ray tracing.

Ray tracing can be done on the 360 and many current gpus with no problem its just the types of games that are releasing for the 360 have been released for the 360 so far haven't really called for it. Its not an impossible task for modern gpus its just they've never had consoles powerful enough to do this sorta thing, but now they do. You'll likely see ray tracing in use in that darth vader game for the 360 and ps3 OR you might not see many games using it at all (not because they can't, but they'll probably think other features are more important)Ray tracing has been around for quite some time, but practically never used in a game. I'll attempt a sloppy definition of ray tracing.





Its basically when a light source that emits a light which travels and usually can have its progress interrupted by something in the environent which can cause a couple of things to happen the surface can reflect part of the light or all of it in a number of different directions or surface could also absorb the light resulting in a loss of intensit and couple other things. Look at the plane being flown by the player at 13 seconds into video you'll see the ship light up from a laser that passed it.

That same water you see there is used in blue dragon for the 360 as well only in addition to an ocean there is this running lake with fast running water that is going in all sorts of differnt directions (you might be able to jump in it unsure) (same types of clouds as well only ALOT thicker) Arguments can't be made for which looks better until we can see both games running on the consoles the way they should truly be viewed. Blue Dragon may also have ray tracing not totally sure.

Hello. Warhawk Looks no better than a X360 game. If this games is done on the X360, I don't think that there'll be no Major differences between the two.

Nice looking game, I was more impressed by the look of the clouds. Other than that there's nothing to get your panties up in a bunch for. Nothing in the video tells me it can only be done on the PS3 at all. Now if this would've looked like last years E3 demo with hundreds of planes than yes I would've been impressed. But somehow I knew that would never happen and by reading this thread it seems a few have already forgotten how they presented this game in last years E3.

lol at one point even I was stunned and declared I WILL BUY A PS3 the moment I saw killzone and mgs 4, but then start coming to my senses. I'll still buy a ps3, but I now know better to expect such graphics. On the other hand... kojima is going to make the ps3 sing like a part time stripper trying to get a record deal :)

MGS4 I'm positive is going to be the biggest thing ps3 fans brag about (and rightfully so its going to be incredible) Killzone is under ALOT of pressure lets just put it like that. After what they've shown at E3 they will have to put up or shut up with that game or they will have annihilated one of the ps3's most impressive showcases of last E3.

Yea wolf its best alot of people forget what those videos looked like last year because nothing is touching that for awhile, on the other hand we can't underestimate the gran turismo team either, but then there is the forza team looking to compete ;)

On the other hand some guy has said that brothers in arms 3 looks better than mgs 4, killzone, and gears of war.

These screenies look no better than Huxley, an MMO. Looks good but definately not impressive.

True there is nothing majorly impressive there that would make me want to go out and buy the game, but maybe it appeals to other people out there.

And atleast the ps3 is port-free(AFAIK).

So we could(should)see some decent games appearing in the early stages of the ps3 release.

People bashing the ps3 launchgames should look back at the xbox360 launch,which was graphically all but impressive.

I do love my xbox360,but this doesnt mean that i cant comment on the xbox360 launch which wasnt very impressive.

I just think the ps3 will have a better launch than the xbox360 launch,and in al honesty,it cant get any worse really!

Also,ive just seen a trailer of the xbox360 game OVER G,and that looks nothing like warhawk for the ps3.

However,i dont know much about these games,so it might not be a fair comparison.

Now before you all start bitching at me,im not claiming the xbox360 cant pull this off,im mearly saying that the ps3 launch will be better and will have better looking titles than the xbox360.

Compared to what!? Compared to the PS2 or the Xbox? I admit launch titles wheren't the best but I say this coming from a PC gaming background. But when placed against last gen consoles, COD2, PGR3 and even Kameo where impressive. That's why you seem like a fanboy. Another thing I've picked up on forums is that all fanboys make there statements about a console then they add comments like: "I own said console and or plan on buying both" Like that's going to add more value to what you have to say.

And by the way I never said I wasn't an Xbox 360 fanboy. As a matter of fact I am and I won't be buying no PS3, I know it'll be a good system but it's not for me. At least I have the BALLS to admit it Lucy liu!

Well,saying this game looks better than that game can never be a 'fact',but from what ive seen from warhawk and fall for resistance i think they look way better than any xbox360 launchgame.Ofcourse this is my opinion and perhaps i didnt make that clear enough in that post.But in all fairness,that post wasnt very positive about the xbox360,that's true,but it's not because im a fanboy,but because i was really disapointed in the xbox360 launch and launchtitles,and i believe microsoft could(should)have done alot better if they would have put their priorities where they should be,and that is the CONSUMER,and not trying to beat sony or whatever.Rushing devs to release titles,releasing al these ports,having hardly any xbox360(/accesoires)available in europe,while japan is practically spitting them out.Im pist off because im an consumer,not because im an fanboy!Lucy liu has spoken!
