I was expecting to be blown away with Gran Turismo 5, but here goes Sony expecting people to pay $60 for another GT4.

first off, its sony so what do you expect. and this should shut anyone's mouth saying it isnt the "true" sequal to GT4. it may not be to us, but to sony (and their dream world) its enough of a sequal to warrent another purchase on another system. If anyone expected to be "blown away" from this game, then you obviously baught into sony's hype

I really thought it would be at least on par with what weve seen from racing games so far, but is it just me or do the screens on the page look horrible? i mean wtf, isnt this supposed to be sonys next gen racing game?

It's GT4 in HD, thats essentially it. No change in the graphics whatsoever. I'm still not sure what there is to justify it being a new game.

This demo was done just to show everyone that its possible to do games in 1080p for the PS3 and they used Gran Turismo 4 to do it, they even said that Gran Turismo 5 is going to look way better than this when development is done and shipped out.

I went to e3 and from what i seen pg3 owns gt.

to those who are stating the OBVIOUS that this is GT4 at 1080p, its well known. the issue is, how is this a big deal? with these next gen systems being 10-20 times more powerful then the previous gen its no surprise that it can run games at much higher resolutions. this proves nothing except that sony is desperate to feed more bull that you people will eat up. i only hope that GT5 kills this but if they are so sure then why not show that then this joke of a game?

Guys, this isn't GT5 ... it's GTHD. It's not supposed to be the actualy fifth installment of the game, just a rehashed version of GT4 in high defintion.

Granted that doesn't make it any better, but I was jsut stating that because some seem to think it's supposed to be a whole new Gran Turismo game when it's not.

You forget the one of the Key reasons why GT HD was shown and is being made...its because this is GT4 with Online play...which was touted to release for the PS2...but now will be on the PS3.

You have to Understand that Lots and Lots of GT fans have Requested an Online version of the game...they have been spamming the boards and game forums for Pholyphony to release a Online version of GT4...

Pholyphony after alot of thinking , planned to release GT4 w/ Online for the PS2. They where not certain about Sonys plans for the Online platform with the PS3 at that time. They did not want to release on the PS2 with Online for GT4, as there plans for Online implementation on the PS2 Online does not live upto the requirements for Pholyphonys Online plans.



Hence you see the GT version with 1080p for PS3 where the Online platform is much improved and capable (HDD standard a major factor) enough to Implement there Online plans...

I know it rather complicated...but this is not Black and White...Check out the Gran Turismo 4 Online Test Version where 5000 Japanese gamers can test out the Onine platform for the PS2 in preperation for the PS3.
