Shivering Isles Deleting Items >
2007/04/10 9:58:31: Posted by Nine
Seems like the last expansion pack for Oblivion has a few hidden additions you did not expect.

It may delete items from your inventory unexpectedly after ~150 hours of playtime (Playtime after you installed shivering isles!). This has been fixed on the PC but 360 gamers have yet to get this patch.

Be carefull when playing the Shivering Isles expansion over the said time period until the fix comes out!

that's the damn thing that sucks about game development. you change/add something "here" and it changes or causes issues "over there" in another part of the game/code.

they better update this fast, im already over and havent noticed anything missing but i dont care to take any chances.

Bethesda are stating that they haven't been able to recreate the issue on the 360. I think I will give it a week and see if there are any further reports before playing again.

yeah i just read that as well, for anyone wondering here is the quote:

While there are Internet reports that claim the Xbox 360 version is affected by the issue, Bethesda PR VP Pete Hines said in an e-mail that the studio "...hasn't seen a single case of it happening on 360, nor have we been able to create it on 360 ourselves."

He added, "We have verified this problem can happen on the PC and are still looking into whether it is possible on 360, since we don’t have any reported cases on that platform. We’re testing a fix for it right now and hope to have it out as soon as possible. When we have more info, we’ll let folks know."

Yeah, I've posted it as I felt the need to warn oblivion gamers. Surely after the tremendous amounts of time you spend in a game such as oblivion - It is absolutely unbearable to lose items or your savegame...

I hope the bug doesn't exist on the 360 - no patch required = good thing :)

Thanks for the warning Nine, better safe than sorry after 150hrs+ game play

It doesn's surprise me that Bethesda can't recreate this problem, because the game is so huge. Once they find it, they will be able to fix it on the Xbox 360, just like the PC. This isn't a big deal, just one of those minor issues.

i dunno, i'm like 160 in and i haven't noticed anything in my inventory missing. do they mean inventory as what you're carrying on your character or anything like something i store at one of the houses?
