Bethesda has announed the Game Of The Year edition for their award Elder Scrolls IV game. The GOTY release will appear on both next-gen consoles, as well as Windows-based PC. The full GOTY edition will be packed-in with the original Elder Scrolls IV storyline, The Shivering Isles expansion, and the downloadable Knights of the Nine content. July 9, 2007 (Rockville, MD) – Bethesda Softworks®, a ZeniMax Media company, announced today that it will release The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion® Game of the Year Edition (GotY) for Xbox 360™ video game and entertainment system from Microsoft, PLAYSTATION®3 computer entertainment system from Sony, and Windows this September. Oblivion GotY will include the original version of the award-winning RPG Oblivion along with the official expansion, The Elder Scrolls® IV: Shivering Isles™, and the downloadable content, Knights of the Nine.

According to OXM, the Shivering Isles expansion is going to be the last Oblivion add on for a while. The expansion marks the end of the long term plans for the title, says Bethesda. It is a shame, for sure.

Good news for Bethesda RPG fans, the company said today it has no plans to diversify from its current RPG-only lineup. Fallout an the Oblivion expansion are both on the hoirzon, and we eagerly await them both.

There is a new Shivering Isles preview posted over at 1UP, checking out the Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion expansion pack. The preview is pretty thorough, it even includes some new screenshots.

Apparently, the PC version of Oblivion had to be re-rated M For Mature. This change from the T For Teen rating is due to a mod for the PC version which allows for the in-game characters to be naked. GamePolitics has had the chance to interview the modder behind this oblivion controversy, check it out!

Bethesda send word that the new Mehrunes' Razor add-on for Oblivion will be released on Thursday. It will be on Obliviondownloads.com for PCs, and the Xbox360 version should be up on the marketplace by then as well.

We had the PC update just a day or so ago, and now we have the XBox360 version of the same update. The Elder Scrolls IV download fixes a multitude of glitches and bugs, as well as sets some stats right. Grab it now.

Bethesda has finally released a patch for the PC version of Oblivion that fixes a multitude of bugs and glitches. For those of you who could not complete a quest or could not re-enter certain buildings, make sure to install this update now.

Here is a useful little patch for you ATI owning PC using Oblivion players. There is a new Chuck patch over on the ATI website which allows Oblivion PC players to turn on HDR and AA at the same time. Check it out, and let us know how it looks.
