According to Bloomberg, the sales of the Xbox360 have almost doubled since the price cut was announced. Retailers reported a 100% increase in sales for all models as compared with the previous weekend, MS claims in an e-mailed statement. Once we have some solid numbers we will bring them to you.

They should just ban you from making comments in the 360 news area. DM is that possible?

This is no different than every other price drop from any other console. There will always be a spike right after a release date. This is why Sony, MS, and Ninty like to point out these sales spikes soon after a price drop and not months afterwords. The September NPD will be a more telling report.

yea, I agree with Xenos,a price drop is always a good news in sales, maybe two month only...

This should not have been unexpected. As Xenos posted, there's always a sales spike right after the price drop as a lot of people who were sitting on the fence or specifically waiting for the next price drop pull the trigger. Longer term sales will benefit as well, but by a more modest amount I'm guessing. The new prices will help the 360 remain competitive this holiday, but of course we have to wait to see by how much.
