Judge Rules World Of Warcraft Botting Violates DMCA >
2009/02/02 19:04:23: Posted by DM
A worrying ruling has been handed down by the judge in the case Blizzard brought against people who use automated programs and scripts to gather items and gold to sell online in the World of Warcraft game. The specific software in question, a "bot" called Glider that can be run by anyone who downloads it, has been ruled to violate Blizzard's copyright. This opens the door for many other lawsuits in other MMO games, it could be the start of a scary trend, and the beginning of a total change in the MMO community.
