JeuxFrance has some new images from Gears Of War for the Xbox360. The screens look like they were capped from a trade show demo, check them out though, looks good.

CVG got the chance to speak with Mark Rein of Epic about the new Playstation 3 HUB online service and the Xbox360 live service. He also talked about Gears Of War mulitplayer, calling it a "more tectical" Counterstrike. Apparently the architechtures of the two next-gen systems are unique, making a port of GoW unlikely. Shacknews, one of our favorite PC game sites, has posted their preview of the highly anticipated Unreal Tournament 2007. As is to be expected, they were quite taken with the game, not only does it have stunning visuals, but the gameplay is as good as any previous UT game, maybe better. Check it out.

Over at The Epic games forum, one of the Epic producers has cleared up a "rumor". Apparently UT2007 will not be a Playstation 3 launch title as was previously reported, and he is unclear as to where the source of that news was. Oh well, back to the drawing board.

According to the January issue of PSM magazine, UT2007 will be a Playstation 3 launch title. This is great news as it means that the PS3 is in its final stages of launch planning, which also means we will have more details very soon. This also makes me think that the PS3 will have more online features than Sony is letting on as UT2007 is a title that just begs for online multiplayer.

Epic sends along some new screens for what looks like the PC version of the game. The shots look amazing, you have to see them to believe them. I think one forum poster put it best "next-gen doesn't start until Epic says so." Too true. Click on the news title for the screens.

Epic Games ia still on track with its committment to provide a slew of free game content for Unreal Tournament 2004. Today will see the release of the UT2004 Mega Pack add-on. The pack adds new maps to the game in both the assault, CTF, and deathmatch modes, as well as the latest patch. It is due out sometime today so keep checking the official site.

The PSM hits just keep on coming. They also featured some info on Unreal Tournament 2007 for the Playstation 3. Apparently the game is in the very early stages, but it already runs at a sustained 49 FPS. The team seems pretty impressed by the Playstation 3 hardware, as you can see by some of the latter comments. There is even info that the game is going to feature hoverboards so when you die, you don't have a long walk to get back to the action. "We've been working on the gameplay side of things for about a year," the game's lead designer, Steve Polge, told us as we first laid eyes on it. "We started off refining the basics, the movement and the weapons," he recounted. "We went back to the roots; played older UT games, other FPSs, so that it just feels really good." However, Polge wsa quick to add: "We're stilli n the early part of development." Judging by the level we saw, you wouldn't have thought it.
