PS3 Price Drop Coming At GDC? >

	A Playstation 3 price drop rumor has surfaced, not surprisingly. According to 2old2play.com, Sunday, March 22 will be the day that Gamestop drops the price of the PS3, jsut before the Game Developer's Conference this year. Sony will supposedly be issuing a press release on the Saturday before to reveal to the world the details. The info says that the Playstation 3 80GB model will now retail for $300 USD, which is a big drop for that much hardware. Rumor mill for now, Sony will refuse to comment, of course. >Link

I hope so. I wonder how they would announce it.

Sonystyle.com has been running a $200 off special for the PS3 if you sign up for their credit card and use it.

So I can get a PS3 for $200?!?!

Any idea how long this deal will last?

its actually $299. you get $100 off if you are approved for the Sony Card, and you get $200 in credit if you spend over $3,000. expires on 3/31/09

well from what i read, you have to sign up to the Playstation® Card(lol) by 3/31/09. you have to purchase the console by 4/30/09 to get the $100 credit. basically, anything $299 or over(like a $399 PS3) will qualify for the credit.

It's not a playstation only card, it's a Sony card by Chase. You get reward points from Sony for using it anywhere. Most people I know just bought the PS3, paid it off and chopped up their card.

^ I may do that. I won't have to start my studen loan payments for another 6 months after graduating (only 3 weeks to go! then I get my sanity back) so I'm hoping to fit it in by then. $300 for a ps3 isn't bad at all. If there really is a price drop at GDC, that would be ace as well and just help here.

indeed its still a Sony card by Chase, they are just calling that promo the Playstation® Card for whatever purpose.
