Sega racing Studio Closes Doors > |
2008/04/08 17:26:13: Posted by DM | |
According to DevelopMag online, the new Sega Racing dev house in London has had it's doors closed. This is the team that brought us the so-so Sega Rally game on PS3 and Xbox360, and PC as well. The game was not bad, per se, but when up against DiRT, the sales just never materialized. No word on just what the 60 or so employees of the dev house have in store for them. Good luck to all.

I agree with CianMCL and DM; I wish those developers the best of luck. It's unfortunate that Sega sort of lost their racing edge. Sega Rally was arguably the best racing game made in the 32-64 bit generation. And Daytona USA was the king of racing games during that generation. Super GT was the first racing game to use the $20,000 Model 3 hardware, and it everyone was AMAZED when they saw it! I will never forget seeing the fish in that water aquarium part of the game as you drove by. It has been ten years since then, and I still haven't seen anything that impressive in a game. I wish Sega would put Sega GT on Xbox 360.
